Waiver All participants MUST sign an unaltered release of liability and acknowledgment of risk prior to each Mosaic-Greater NY activity or they will not be permitted to participate.

Ability Questions about experience/expertise required for an event, call the listed leader.

Cost Unless otherwise indicated, activities are free for Mosaic members and $5 - $10 for nonmembers. Nonmember fees are collected at the start of an event.

Reserve your space Do not call any leader after 10 PM. Some leaders have earlier requirements noted in their event listings. Activities requiring advance payment by our chapter, must be reserved early to avoid cancellation for lack of participation by commitment dates.

Information updates Call our Events Hotline number, periodically, or check our website, (both listed on the cover), for additions or cancellations to our scheduled activities.  Your best bet is to subscribe to our new electronic mailing list (available at the website).

Hiking Hiking boots and WOOL socks over polypropylene or silk sock liners are recommended in ALL seasons. Dress in layers. Select clothing best suited to avoid contracting Lyme disease. Bring a daypack with plenty of water, lunch and snacks.

Biking Rollerblading& Horseback Riding Helmets mandatory Wrist guards, knee & elbow pads are mandatory for rollerblading.

Pets No pets are allowed on MOMC-GNY events.

We are an independent club within a national organization The Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club of Greater N.Y. is associated with other similar Mosaic Outdoor & Outdoor Mountain Clubs. There are 24 chapters in the United States (including Albany, NY, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Texas). There are also Mosaics in Toronto and Jerusalem. New chapters are formed periodically. We participate in annual and specially scheduled Mosaic events. We are currently are affiliated with the Mosaic Outdoor Clubs of America (MOCA) (1-888-MOSAICS). HOWEVER, our club is unique to the NYC metro area and our club politics are independent; our goal is primarily to provide a venue for Jewish people to enjoy the outdoors together. We encourage sustenance of Jewish identity and environmental awareness. We do not impose heavy-duty environmental or religious agendas on participants.
